Earned media value calculator
What would your campaign's reach have cost as paid advertising? Earned media value turns views into a euro amount you can put next to your costs in reporting.
Prefilled with our benchmark for the format.
How EMV is calculated
Earned media value multiplies the contacts reached by the CPM you would have paid for the same reach as advertising.
Example: A campaign reaches 400,000 contacts. At a CPM of €35, that is 400,000 ÷ 1,000 × €35 = €14,000 in earned media value.
What EMV tells you and what it does not
EMV shows the advertising value of the attention you reached. It is neither revenue nor profit. Two campaigns with the same EMV can sell very differently.
To judge profitability, you also need revenue and margin. How to evaluate ROI, ROAS and EMV together is covered in our article ROI und Earned Media Value (in German).
