Engagement rate

The engagement rate shows how many likes and comments a post gets relative to the channel's followers.

It is the best-known metric for comparing how active a community is. Because it is based on followers, large channels and accounts with many inactive followers automatically score lower. The interaction rate, which relates the same interactions to a post's views, is often more meaningful.

Calculation

ER=Likes+CommentsFollowers

Example: A reel gets 4,200 likes and 180 comments, and the channel has 95,000 followers. The engagement rate is (4,200 + 180) ÷ 95,000 = 4.6%.
